LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP is wasted potential

On modern game remakes | 12 Jun 2026

Lollipop Chainsaw on the 7th gen consoles was just stunning. Even with console's hardware limitations, the game's graphics were unique and timeless. I bought the Ps3 physical release for $60 in 2025 and it's still my holy grail...

So imagine the disappointment on my face when I saw the RePOP version for the first time. The hardware isn't as limited as on the 7th gen consoles, so why is the atmosphere just.. flat? Oh I know why. Because making a game "realistic" is more important than - literally - anything else.

WHAT happened to the comics artystyle? The character outlines? Depth?? It just looks like they're trying to make the new version fit in with modern game standards.. Which is the exact opposite as to why I (and many others) love this game so much. It's weird, unique and original.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'd loove to see a remake on modern tech but it needs to add onto the game aesthetics with new technologies used. Like an upgrade to the iconic visual elements, not making the game modern for the sake of it being modern.
